TAKING THE DHARMA OUTSIDE THE MONASTERY The monastery itself is relatively inaccessible to the general public, and in order to bring the Dharma to people, we need to travel outside the monastery. The closest town, 15 minutes away, is Middletown with a population of 1000, so that Dharma gatherings as shown here are small affairs. To reach more people locally, we are now meeting weekly in Clearlake, the largest town in Lake County with 13,000 people, and in Calistoga in Napa County.
